The upscale resort town of Ixtapa and the modest fishing village of Zihuatanejo brought together two contrasting sides of Mexico. Unfortunately, most Americans hadn't heard of either place.
We resolved to change that with the ads below. I created the tagline, "Where coast meets culture", and our team invented an international Food & Wine festival, complete with Iron Chefs, to invite people down.
Year one ticket sales exceeded our goal by 30%, selling out all 16 events. With a heavy social media push, the campaign generated over 175 million free impressions valued at nearly $5 million. Hola year two.
